Disposable Cigars – The New Rage in Cigars
Smoke one and just throw the butt away!
May 18, 2009 5/18/2009 06:20 PM GMT (TransWorldNews)
Disposable is all the rage these days, from disposable razors and cameras to disposable diapers and dishes. Cigars International is proudly jumping on the bandwagon with its novel concept of “disposable cigars.” So popular is this idea that every single cigar boasts this feature. Here’s the way it works: each cigar is intended for one-time use only, so after smoking enjoyment ceases the remainder of the cigar is simply extinguished, then cast aside. Dan ‘The Man’ Haab, one of CI’s in-house IT geeks, practically beams when he proclaims in true tech-speak “this is not a bug, but a feature” of the cigar. Green types laud the reduced cleanup while worry warts rejoice about the reduced anxiety associated with their cigars becoming lost or damaged post-smoking. Even though disposable cigars are a single use item, quality and flavor are still of utmost concern. Thus certain lesser brands tend to be “disposed of” far sooner than others. In fact some cigars are hastily, and somewhat disdainfully, disposed of after a mere glance.
Responding to this phenomenon, dozens of cigar manufacturers have now joined the effort and the selection of disposable cigars has reached unprecedented levels. To date, top-selling cigar brands such as Rocky Patel, 5 Vegas, Gurkha, Padilla, Ashton, Perdomo, Cohiba, Padron, Nub, ACID, CAO and many others are available with the fancy disposable feature.

CIGAR RIGHTS OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES THE FORMATION OF THE GRASSROOTS NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATION OF CIGAR ENTHUSIASTS TO FIGHT TOBACCO TAX INCREASES AND SMOKING BANS.
Los Angeles, May 30, 2008
FIGHTING TO PROTECT YOUR FREEDOM TO ENJOY CIGARS
“Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”
“Land of the Free”
“No Taxation Without Representation”
These are the principles on which America was founded. Unfortunately for cigar enthusiasts, the age-old pleasure of enjoying a cigar is under attack. On a daily basis, your freedom to enjoy a cigar is being stripped away by an overzealous, anti-smoking movement. Their tactics are varied; be it through supporting onerous cigar taxes or lobbying government for restrictive smoking bans. The anti-smoking movement will stop at nothing short of the complete prohibition of tobacco.
The Constitution of the United States ensures that all men and women have the freedom and the right to the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, cigar enthusiasts have slowly allowed these rights to be removed. Over the past twenty years, the anti-tobacco movement has broadened their reach and scope and are moving towards abolishing ALL forms of tobacco including cigars. Until recently there has essentially been very little organized opposition to their actions. And why should there have been? Most of us assumed that their attention was directed towards cigarettes.
Unfortunately, we were wrong.....

I know this is a loaded question. All of us have a combination of things we look for when selecting a cigar. But, what is the main drive in your decision. Cast your vote!

| Survey: Preferred Cigar Storage |
|
The debate is never ending, each side with their own rationalization. But if money was no object, which would you prefer?
Are you a closet cabinet collector, but limited on funding to justify such an expense when you could better spend that money on some premium cigars? Or do you prefer the convenience and ease a coolerdor offers?
Or, do you see yourself with shelves full of desktop humidors ranging from Savoy to Dunhill, to collector series?

| News: Famous Smoke Shop announces new Conuco cigars made by Rocky Patel |
|
Source: transWorldNews
Easton, PA 3/12/2008 12:00 PM GMT
(TransWorldNews)

Famous Smoke Shop has just announced the release of Conuco, a new exclusive boutique cigar blended and manufactured in concert with Rocky Patel, one of the leading personalities in the world of premium cigars.
The cigars are handmade under Rocky Patel's direction in Danli, Honduras. The blend comprises carefully-aged Honduran and Costa Rican Ligero, Nicaraguan Viso, and Panamanian Seco longfiller tobaccos bound in a Nicaraguan Seco leaf and wrapped in a milk chocolate-hued, Honduran Habano wrapper.
"Our goal, as always, is to bring value into an inflated boutique marketplace to let the premium cigar smoker know that taste and complexity doesn't need to cost eight bucks a cigar," said Famous Smoke Shop president, Arthur Zaretsky.
Pronounced "koh'-noo'-koh," Conuco is derived from an old Cuban word that refers to a small plot of land an estate owner would grant deserving workers to cultivate their own tobacco crops for profit.
According to Gary Korb, chief copywriter and one of Famous Smoke Shop's resident cigar authorities, "Conuco is a medium to full-bodied cigar with a sweet and complex character." He added that "the cigar offers plenty of earthy, caramelized flavors with hints of dark roasted coffee and cocoa in the aroma."
The cigars are presented in boxes of 20, ranging from $71.99 for the 5" x 44 Petite Corona, $95.99 for the 6" x 60 "Sixty". 5-packs of each size are also being offered. Those interested in more information may visit the Conuco cigars page on the Famous Smoke Shop website, or call 1-800-564-2486.
"Someone once said, 'an educated consumer is our best client,'" said Mr. Zaretsky. "Service, value, and knowledge is what we bring to our customers, and we are always grateful for that opportunity."
